Every year I am more and more disappointed with the Christmas light in Bucharest, surely the mayor is doing a bad job with this. For this year they are monotonous, boring and cheap, unable to impress. It may be his incompetence or the economic downturn, maybe a bit from both.

Well, it indeed isn't something grand... However, I myself grew kind of irritated of Christmas. It should have been either a religious holiday (wait I'm not Christian!) or just a winter solstice celebration, however hearing Christmas carols since November and seeing this huge waste of energy (meaning the Christmas lights in cities, shops, etc) since about the same time really makes me dislike Christmas altogether.
ReplyDeleteI am not Christian either, but I can enjoy the city being prettier a month every year, I can enjoy some fine meals and I can enjoy some gift exchange. The carols are annoying, but I ignore them.
