After a post exclusively dedicated to the Duomo, I am following with some random shoots took trough the city of Milano. Starting, as a journey, from the central train station:

A week ago I returned from a trip in Milano for the Fedora conference, a good opportunity for me to see the city, walk around and take pictures. Will start posting with the most famous building of it, Il Duomo, of which I took photos by day and night:

If you expect a hot, steamy, story, you will get disappointed, Abigail is a doom metal band and I helped them with a photography project, doing some, obviously, gloomy, dark pictures (wait for their upcoming website) in an old building which used to be the royal stables before WW2 and the secret police dungeon during the communist regime:
And after that, they went to the studio to repeat a bit for their upcoming concert on Tuesday, I joined them, assisted and even took a few pictures. Gloomy can be fun :D
Now that the Wikipedia campaign closed, is the time for the next step, judging the photos, and the jury started to work on that. See, even the diplomas are ready:
It may be lame to talk much about it, but it was my first time to have a picture printed, framed and hanged to the wall of an exhibition which people actually come to see. And there also was an exhibition opening, with food and drinks and people looking and talking, it was... like real.
Today is the opening of the "Bucharest in black and white" (Bucureștiul în alb și negru) photo gallery, where I qualified with one picture, the one below. Is open until the end of the month, so come and see us at Cărturești:
While black and white is not exactly my thing, I have adjusted myself to follow the rules, And also had to adjust the framing, while I usually do 3:2, the rules here were 4:3 or 1:1, so unusual color space, unusual framing. Hope I didn't sucked too much.
Part of the Wiki Loves Monuments campaign, we had this week-end an event called "Wiki Takes Bucharest" (it also happened in many other European cities), gathering together 7 contributors walking for a couple of hours trough the city and taking pictures of historical monuments for Wikipedia. I made a more in-depth account of it on my blog. It was fun and, I hope, productive:
For the last week-end of the Bucharest Days for 2011, on the stage on Lipscani street they had a Spanish group, named Malasangre5 (is this the 5 bad bloods? they were only 4...) singing and dancing flamenco, and they were not bad at all:
Sunday in Bucharest we had the schools parade (primary and high schools), which gathered on the streets of Bucharest some tens of thousands of young people (I heard an estimate of 20000, but think it was conservative, from the middle of it, they seemed many more). The demonstration was opened by a group of cheerleaders, of which I am going to post some pictures:

Yesterday I managed at last to attend the Enescu Festival, which happend in the very center of Bucharest, and listen to some high quality classical music performed by talented musicians, in an open-air concert (Piata Revolutiei, in front of Ateneul Roman), it was some well spent time:
